Welcome!
I hope you are enjoying your summer. It is a great opportunity to relax and recharge for the upcoming school year. I am excited about my new opportunity at Southridge Middle School. I look forward to continuing or building new relationships with students, staff and families and working with all of you for excellence.
I want to wish Mr. Gogel the best as he transitions into the Southridge High School principal’s position. 2021-22 was an incredible and productive school year for SMS. Congratulations to all for their hard work throughout the school year! All three grades made positive growth on the I-learn state assessment. Also, they easily exceeded the state average scores in each grade level for both ELA and Math. Our devoted staff is already planning and preparing for this upcoming school year. The custodians have spent the summer getting the facilities ready for another year. Southwest Dubois School Corporations takes great pride in our community, students and facilities.
We are gearing up for another incredible and productive school year!

Facilities Update
If you drove past the school, you may have noticed numerous construction projects. Please be aware of the construction throughout the campus but particularly on the back drive between SMS and Huntingburg Elementary. It is important to be careful and patient in this area for the safety of everyone. You will receive more guidance as we move closer to the start of school. Thank you for reminding your child/ren to take extra precautions walking in the parking lots and on campus.
Finally, we do have an additional access road for the public leading out to W 750 S. We will be monitoring the flow of traffic early with this new addition. Again, we ask to be patient and safe as we continue to grow and expand the opportunities for our students.
Thank You
Thank you to all who are helping prepare for the new school year. I would like to thank all the families and students for your time and effort in the educational process. I look forward to greeting students and families soon. It is a privilege to be your principal. Please let us know if you have any questions. Together, we will achieve great things for all students.
